In Dravenloch, music can tame monsters, heal the wounded, and rally armies. But ten-year-old Ned Numbles is the worst bard apprentice anyone has ever seen. His off-key singing terrifies livestock and breaks instruments. When an ancient force known as the Crooner Below starts using music to control monsters and steal voices, it is Ned’s gloriously terrible music that might be the only thing strong enough to fight back. But he can’t do it alone. He needs a cynical, wildly well-informed talking goat to give him courage and instructions. No one can fight monsters on their own.
